The associations are the social organizations that continue to accept applications for volunteer membership.
The difference is that not all members of the associations are active (meaning going to calls on the fire trucks), but serve as support personnel who work on fundraising, committees, and organizing social events for both social and active members. Those wishing to be active volunteers must first join one of the two associations.
We encourage you to consider joining one of our two Volunteer Firefighter’s Associations.
Laurleton Firefighters Association
This association was formerly the Laurelton Fire Department before consolidation into the Irondequoit Fire District/Department. It meets at the IFD’s Empire Station located at 405 Empire Blvd. Generally, we recommend that anyone living south of Norton Street in Irondequoit should join this association.
Ridge-Culver Volunteer Firefighter Association
This association was formerly the Ridge-Culver Fire Department before consolidation into the Irondequoit Fire District/Department. This association meets at the IFD’s Culver Station located at 2960 Culver Rd. Generally, we recommend anyone living north of Norton Street in Irondequoit should join this association.
