Meeting Schedule:
All meetings will be located at the Culver Road Fire Station, 2960 Culver Road, Rochester, NY 14622, from 6:30pm to 9pm. All meetings are open to the public. Anyone who wishes to address the Board must do so in writing. The request should be made to the attention of the District Secretary prior to the start of the meeting.

Marine training with RFD Marine 1

Over the last month, all four of our groups had an opportunity to cross train with members of the Rochester Fire Department on marine operations. Marine 1776 (IFD) and Marine 1 (RFD) conducted scenarios of assisting a disable vessel in Lake Ontario before concluding with some cross training on each others vessels and equipment.

Captain Beyea receives Fire Chiefs award

This morning Captain Andy Beyea was presented with the Fire Chiefs award for the work he has done over the last year composing IFD's first ever Internship program. This program which runs approximately 12 weeks will guide interns in gaining hands-on experience in fire service operations, assist in training sessions, and complete structured coursework outlined in the internship syllabus. Congratulations to three of IFD's Career Officers who recently completed a two week First Line Supervisor Program hosted by the Fire Department of New York.

IFD receives air cleaner donation curtesy of M.J. Brunin

On May 21, 2025, the Irondequoit Fire District proudly took delivery of 10 advanced air cleaners generously donated by M.J. Brunin.

Congratulations to Battalion Chief Jim Caracci, Lieutenant Ryan Kohlmeier and Firefighter Rob Roth who recently completed the process that awards them the professional designation of "Fire Officer" through the Center for Public Safety Excellence.

Marine 1776 is in service!

As the weather has changed (hopefully), Marine 1776 is now in service and has already responded to it's first call for service on the bay. Throughout the spring and summer, our members will be regularly training on the vessel, ensuring we are ready for the boating season. Vigilant Apparatus Operators course

Last week, IFD hosted an in house Apparatus Operators class presented Vigilant Fire Service Training LLC.
This 40 hour class captured eight of our junior firefighters and enhanced their skills on a variety of operator topics such as: -driving -proper positioning -engine operating and advanced pump skills -identifying target hazards within our response area
