Please join us in congratulating Battalion Chief Kevin Quinlan on his retirement.

Kevin joined the fire service in 1984 as a volunteer firefighter with the Point Pleasant Fire Department. Over the years Kevin worked his way up through the ranks of the line office, and eventually served as Fire Chief from 1999-2002.

In April of 2004 Kevin was hired by the Ridge-Culver Fire District as a career firefighter. After six years, Kevin was promoted to Fire Lieutenant and was now only one of two career Lieutenants to serve the district and assist in administrative and operational needs. Throughout his tenure, Kevin was often in charge of the apparatus fleet and maintenance as he has rich knowledge and history as a fire service and general automotive mechanic.

As the district needs grew, Kevin was promoted to Captain in July of 2019 where his roles evolved into a duty officer for the group. In early 2024 that continued when he was promoted to Battalion Chief and served until his retirement this past week.

Thank you Chief for your over 40 years of dedication to the citizens of Irondequoit. Enjoy a happy and healthy retirement with your wife and family, you've earned it!
