The Irondequoit Fire District is ecstatic to announce that we are the recipients of a 2022 FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant! IFD will be receiving $475,454.54 in Federal Funding.

This award completes a year long project to file, receive approval and purchase replacement Self Contained Breathing Apparatus.

The grant monies will facilitate the purchase of new SCBA's, spare cylinders for each unit, 2 Rapid Intervention Firefighter Rescue Packs, and SCBA masks for each member of the department.

Both the legacy Laurelton FD and Ridge Culver FD packs (which were merged together during our consolidation) are at the end of the service lives and were too damaged to be repaired.

This grant will allow the Fire District to outfit its members with the latest version of NFPA compliant SCBA's and will benefit the firefighters and residents for years to come!
